2020Cotoni opens on the main street of Colonia América, next to one of the best garages in the area: people who drop off their car need somewhere to wait, and here they found real coffee. On December 23 the first photo goes up: an americano with a cotton-candy cloud dripping over it. Nobody in the city had seen one.
2021The passion fruit cheesecake and the red velvet come out of the house oven for the first time. Frappés with double espresso and fruit smoothies arrive. In January the TikTok opens and the cloud starts going around on video.
2022The photo of the cloud over the cup becomes the most shared on the account and people start showing up asking for it. The turkey panini and the grilled pork loin panini join the menu, along with oven-baked wedges and the mocha caramel for rainy afternoons.
2023 – 2024In come the Honduran breakfast with quesillo and tortillas, weekend brunch and the impossible chocoflan, the cake that comes out with the flan on top even though it's baked on the bottom. The blue sofa and the turquoise doors become the backdrop for half the neighborhood's Instagram.
2026A new chapter with the same bar and the same beans. The register now runs on a system built for Cotoni, the menu on this site is the one you pay for, and you order from the table with your phone. The cloud is the same as ever: by hand, to order.
Mission
For the café on the block to be the best café in the city: well-roasted Honduran beans, every drink made to order by someone who knows how, and a table where nobody rushes you.
Vision
For "see you at Cotoni" to mean "let's talk without hurry". A café you come to for the coffee, and come back to for how you felt.
